Welcome, CBRC Masters, to your experimental blog. The purpose is to improve communication within the team. The goal is to provide pertinent information to CBRC Masters program participants. CBRC's website has a great deal of information about the program, but can't serve as an ongoing source of detailed information throughout the year. Email is useful for this purpose, but the information shared can be difficult to retrieve and can get lost in the overall volume of email we receive.
Our Winter Season Team Meeting on Sat., Nov. 26 was an impetus to try sharing and recording the material that was discussed. At the meeting, we identified a number of points that needed additional discussion by the whole team and upcoming events that need planning and coordination. Chris Johnson offered to pull together a Masters Rowing Committee to address this need. My suggestion is that, in future, a Masters Rowing Committee could enhance the program by providing: steering for the masters program, support for coaches, regatta planning and support, and assistance and support for our learn-to-row programs. Perhaps, the committee may choose to use this blog to help with communication and coordination.
